Since I last wrote, we have settled into our apartment in Victoria Park - a nice little area. We had our first large house problem last week - the gas went - leaving us cookerless & warm waterless (is that a word?) - it's come with a bonus though - the landlords are not charging us rent .

I finally found a job working in the sales office of a large milling company. Other benefits of this job include free bread & getting to work with someone who looked like Newman from Seinfeld

That finished up last week, so I've spent this week gainfully looking for employment. I found 4 1/2 hours of it on Monday...I can safely say that I've never had such a depressingly poor job - and I've done a paper round & been a kitchen wash up. I spent the time in small hole of a room with no natural light, counting out competition entries & putting them into piles.

Anyway - today I finally have found a job which should hopefully take me up to the end of our time in Perth....get your panto booking ready....I'm returning to the dark shady world of debt collecting - for an Australian Bank.

We've joined the local gym. Last week I had my induction - this guy took my blood pressure (normal apparently - but this was before my counting job), then made me ride a bike with a heart monitor attached. After 20 mins he asked my what I thought my level of fitness was out of five - I replied two (thinking he'd say three & I'd look good), sadly he replied the same.

We spent the last month in Perth getting sunburned on beaches, doing bbq's, walking along the river, watching Ireland lose to Australia in the International Rules (great stadium though) & generally relaxing before packing up our lives and sending half of it home .
